New Drug Trial for People with High Blood Pressure
Protocol: STUDY00007403
Full Title
A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel arm, multicenter, phase 2 study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of lorundrostat in subjects with uncontrolled hypertension on a standardized medication regimen
Description
The University at Buffalo (UB) Department of Medicine is recruiting adults with hypertension (high blood pressure) for a clinical trial. The goal of the study is to test the safety and effectiveness of a new medication (Lorundrostat) for people with high blood pressure that is not well controlled.

Participants be enrolled in the study for about 3 months and will complete several study visits. They will be randomly assigned (which happens by chance, like flipping a coin) to one of two groups: (1) will take the study medicine and 2-3 high blood pressure medications or (2) will take a placebo (which looks like the study pill but contains no active medicine) and 2-3 high blood pressure medications. They will also complete physical exams and lab tests. Participants will be paid $50 for each study visit.
