Utility of the Buffalo Concussion Physical Examination (BCPE) for Diagnosing Concussion and Delayed Recovery in the Professional Hockey Player
Description
This study enrolls professional ice-hockey players. The purpose of this study is to determine if the Buffalo Concussion Physical Examination is useful for diagnosing concussions and recovery from concussion of professional hockey players.

This study will last for up to 2 years. There are no specific requirements from you, given that this research involves collecting the screening and physical examination data routinely collected as part of your ice-hockey program. Your data will be added to the database where it will be accessible to the research investigators. This study takes place at UBMD outpatient Orthopedics and Sports Medicine clinics in Buffalo NY.

Technical Description

To estimate agreement between the BCPE and the complete assessment (history, symptom checklist, physical assessment, and adjunct tests if needed) in hockey players.
Compensation: No
Eligibility
Professional Ice Hockey players age 18-45
No neurological problems or history of severe brain injury
Age Group: Adults
