Clinical Trial for People with Long COVID and POTS
Protocol: STUDY00008158
Full Title
A Platform Protocol for Evaluation of Interventions for Autonomic Dysfunction in Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 Infection (PASC)
Description
The University at Buffalo (UB) Department of Medicine is enrolling people diagnosed with long COVID and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) in a new clinical trial. People living with POTS experience a number of symptoms when they transition from laying down to standing up (such as fast heart rate, dizziness, and fatigue).

The goal of the study is to investigate if new treatments can help with symptoms associated with long COVID and POTS.

Participants will be enrolled in the study for either 6 or 12 months depending on which study group they are assigned to. They will be randomly assigned (which happens by chance, like flipping a coin) to either an active study drug group or a control group (that will receive a placebo which looks just like the study drug but does not contain any active medicine). During the study, participants will complete blood draws, blood pressure monitoring, surveys, and wear a fitness tracker on their wrists.

Participants will be compensated to cover study-related costs, such as transportation and parking, and for your time and effort to complete the study activities.
