Rehydration Strategies for Post-Immersion Performance in a Warm Environment
This study enrolls healthy males ages 18-29. The purpose of the study is to learn which method of rehydtating people works best after being in the water and then doing exercise.
You will participate for 3 visits (Visit 1: 2 Hours, Visits 2 and 3: 1 Hour). You will be immersed in water, do exercise, and then may drink an electrolyte solution or water afterwards. This study takes place on UB's South Campus in Buffalo, NY.
This study aims to identify the simplest, yet most effective rehydration strategy to preserve performance during a mission relevant scenario of a ruck march followed by high intensity intermittent exercise in warm environmental conditions.
Compensation may include cash, checks, gift cards, debit cards, or incentives like gift baskets, technology items, or merchandise.
Male adults ages 18-29.
Generally healthy and physically active.
No contraindications to ingesting core temperature capsule.
