This study enrolls children ages 3-5 who attend certain Buffalo child care centers and their parents. This study is looking at early stressful experiences in the family and with friends at school. We are trying to find out how these experiences impact school readiness when children transition from preschool to kindergarten. We are also exploring how stressful experiences "get under the skin" and are measured in the stress hormone cortisol that we can measure in hair and saliva. Read More

Must be attending one of the participating child care centers in the larger Buffalo metro area.
This study is for people who read the Sofia Learns About Research book. The book is a coloring and activity book created to help children and families learn more about participating in research. Anyone can access the online, interactive version of the book and participate in the study. Read More

This study enrolls babies with neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS). The purpose of this study is to learn about how babies with this syndrome grow and develop. This will help us learn the best way to care for babies with NOWS. Read More
