Protocol: STUDY00009882
Full Title
Team Alice Senior Center Medication Safety and Empowerment Curriculum
Description
Are you an adult 55 years or older? Do you want to feel more confident about your medicines and know how to advocate for your health? If so, you may be eligible to participate in the “Medication Safety and Patient Empowerment” study from Team Alice and the University at Buffalo (UB).

The goal of this study is to help older adults and/or their caregivers learn how to safely manage medicines. Another focus of the study is to help older adults build confidence to talk with their doctors about their health.

Participants will attend two 90-minute sessions. These sessions will use videos, group discussions, and hands-on tools. Participants will also complete a brief 6-month follow-up session. Finally, they will complete surveys 3 times over 6 months. Participants' self-reported medication lists will be collected 2 times during the study to see if there are changes in medication usage as a result of the education and empowerment training.

This program will be offered at senior centers in Western New York.
