Standard Operating Procedures for veterinary emergencies

  1. Purpose
    This procedure supplies contact numbers in the event of a veterinary emergency.
  2. Scope
    This procedure applies to all CM-LAF individuals working with animals.
  3. Procedure
    1. In the event of any veterinary emergency, the veterinarian should be contacted immediately. CM-LAF veterinarians are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
    2. Dr. Lisa Martin can be reached on her cell phone at 207-5171.
    3. Dr. Leslie Curtin can be reached on her cell phone at 536-4933.
    4. Dr. Tiffany Whitcomb can be reached on her cell at 803-5985.
    5. If a veterinarian who is on call for a specific weekend is not available, contact an alternative veterinarian. During the week contact Dr. Martin, Dr. Curtin or Dr. Whitcomb.
    6. This SOP must be posted in an area where all employees will have access to it.
