Our Mission

The Division of Comparative Medicine Laboratory Animal Facilities (CM-LAF) at the State University of New York at Buffalo is a centralized service organization responsible for the animal care and use program campus wide. Our primary mission is to assure that healthy animals are available for use by faculty members who have received approval to perform research, testing or educational studies on animal subjects. The CM-LAF ensures humane and appropriate animal care and use by providing for the animals daily care needs, providing necessary veterinary care, monitoring use of animals by principal investigators and their technical personnel, and by ensuring that the highest standards are met relative to animal care and health so that each animal's well being is attended to.
