Being able to ward off the dangers of biological and chemical warfare is a challenge that researchers around the globe face every day. Our scientists are developing methods to make vaccines more potent and useful, to stop epidemics before they get started. We?ve created slow-release agents that provide long-term immunity and direct delivery to specific sites, such as the lungs in the case of anthrax. And we are a partner in one of the new federal Regional Centers of Excellence for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Disease Research.

These are just some of the many ways the University at Buffalo is doing its part to take the nation?s homeland security to new levels. To learn more about our research, visit HSwhitepaper.pdf.
