All department chairs, associate deans for research and instrumentation users and principal investigators are invited to attend an Instrumentation Planning Retreat. The program is intended to initiate a strategic planning process around medium and large-scale instrumentation needs across the University. The goal is to anticipate UB equipment needs with sufficient lead-time to solicit federal and private support including identifying required matching funds, space requirements, construction needs, etc.

The program relates to equipment to be shared among a group of investigators and encompasses computation, imaging, physical, and biological "research tools."
